Event Cancellation Insurance
If there is any likelihood at all that your event is going to be canceled or postponed, no matter how slight the chance, then you should get event cancellation insurance. Event cancellation insurance insures against losses caused by one peril or another, including but not limited to:
- adverse weather,
- earthquakes, floods and tsunamis,
- terrorist acts that damage the venue for the event,
- non appearance of performing artists,
- venue for the event is deemed unusable.
Eligible programs for event cancellation are events that last up to 90 days and with budgets equivalent to or less than $1 million. The venue for the event should be within the United States or its territories.
You can only be covered for adverse weather if you purchase the policy seven days before the date of the actual event.
